DIH4CAT Project

DIH4CAT

Consolidation of Catalonia's digital innovation hub as a strategic regional non-profit ecosystem. The initiative aims to drive the technological transformation of SMEs, mid-caps, startups, and public administrations by deploying responsible Artificial Intelligence and ensuring strategic alignment with the EU AI Act.

The project provides end-to-end guidance through digital maturity assessment services, advanced skill development training, and technological testing frameworks.

National
GaN OBC Project

Integrated GaN Charger for Urban Vehicles

Research and development of a highly integrated powertrain system that combines the on-board charger (OBC) and the traction inverter. Utilising GaN technology, this initiative aims to significantly increase power density and minimise weight in urban electric vehicles (L7-class).

The multiport, bidirectional architecture enables advanced V2G (Vehicle-to-Grid) and V2H (Vehicle-to-Home) functionalities, aligning with urban electrification and decarbonisation targets for smart cities.

RHODaS Project

RHODaS

Reinventing High-performance pOwer converters for heavy-Duty electric trAnSport. Development of disruptive topologies leveraging novel wide-bandgap (WBG) semiconductors and state-of-the-art digital control technologies.

The primary objective is to validate 1200V electric powertrains for heavy-duty zero-emission vehicles (N3 and O4 classes), improving the efficiency, reliability, and lifecycle sustainability of the components.

European
HELIOS Project

HELIOS

Development of a novel, modular, intelligent, and scalable battery pack framework tailored for urban electromobility services (fleets and e-buses). It integrates advanced thermal management, power electronics, and cloud-based IoT/Big Data architectures.

Focused on the circular economy, the project enables continuous state-of-health (SoH) monitoring to streamline deployment in second-life applications prior to ultimate recycling stages.

National
iOBC GaN Project

e-PowerTGaN

Research and development of a highly integrated system combining an on-board charger (OBC) and a traction inverter. Built on high-frequency GaN semiconductor devices, it seeks to maximise power density and efficiency metrics for urban electric mobility frameworks (L7-class).

Aligned with the National Plan (PEICTI) and regional sustainable transport roadmaps, these multiport, bidirectional topologies enable V2G (Vehicle-to-Grid) and V2H (Vehicle-to-Home) pathways to seamlessly link vehicles with local distribution infrastructure.

ECOBULK Project

ECOBULK

A large-scale demonstration initiative aiming to "close the loop" of composite products across the automotive, furniture, and construction sectors. It promotes deep product redesign frameworks to facilitate rapid disassembly, modular upgrades, and high-purity recycling.

The project validates high-efficiency manufacturing technologies and novel reverse-logistics business models to reclaim material components, reintroducing them into circular production streams.
